Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to the Success Team.
It looks like you might be experiencing a technical issue. Below are the most common challenges encountered during Orientation, along with suggested solutions.
 

Canvas

 

Email not received

If you can’t find your Canvas registration email, please search for an email from notifications@instructure.com or Canvas @ FourthRev. If nothing comes up, please check your spam/junk folder.

If a blank, white screen appears when you click on your Canvas link…

You may have followed a course invitation link before registering for Canvas. Please follow the Canvas registration link first (this is the first email you received from Canvas - not the one at the top of your inbox). When registering/logging in for the first time, please do so from a laptop or PC, not a mobile device.
  • The registration email looks like this:
  • Clicking this link takes you to the registration page.
  • After registering, you can then open the course invitation email to access your course. You will also be able to access the Orientation course directly through Canvas, once registered.

You’re trying to sign up but it’s asking you to ‘find your school’ or use a QR code to gain access…

This happens if you’re registering with the wrong email or without using the registration email. Please return to the very first Canvas email and complete your registration there before accepting any course invitations. If you’re being asked for a code, it means you tried to access a course before registering. Go back to the initial registration email and complete that first.

If Canvas just isn’t working for you…

  • Clear your browser cache – click here for guidance.
  • Disable ad-blocker extensions – click here for guidance.
  • Switch browsers – use recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. Edge tends to work best for most users.
  • Check your device for software updates – sometimes an outstanding update may cause issues.
 
If you’re unable to access Canvas or it’s not displaying correctly, please try the following steps in order:
  1. Clear your browser cacheclick here for guidance.
  2. Disable ad-blocker or privacy extensionshow to disable plugins/add-ons/extensions.
  3. Switch browsers – try Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
  4. Check for browser updatescheck if your browser is up to date.
  5. Ensure JavaScript is enabledhow to enable JavaScript.
  6. Confirm browser compatibilitysupported browsers for Canvas LMS.
  7. Check your network connection – run a speed test and try these tips.
  8. Check for device software updates – pending updates can cause display or performance issues.
 
If you’ve tried all the above and Canvas still won’t load, please send us a screenshot of the error message or screen you’re seeing.

The mobile app isn’t working effectively

We don’t recommend using the Canvas mobile app, as some features (videos, submissions, dropdowns, etc.) don’t function correctly. Please access Canvas via a browser on a laptop or desktop for the best experience.
 

Circle

 

Email not received

If you can’t find your Circle registration email, please search for an email from studentcommunity@fourthrev.com or FourthRev Student Community. If nothing comes up, please check your spam/junk folder.

Trouble navigating Circle - your Student Community?

You will find the name of your programme and cohort in the left-hand panel. Click the dropdown to find your programme’s spaces:
  • Success Team – Updates and announcements from your Success Team
  • Content Discussions – Questions and discussions with your facilitators
  • Common Room – Peer interaction and community support
  • Live Events & Playback Library – Access to upcoming events and past recordings
 
You will also have access to:
  • Policy Space – Programme policies (extensions, resits, withdrawals, etc.)
  • Coaching Space – Updates from your Career Coaching team
 
To send direct messages, click the icon in the top-right corner next to your profile. Please note: this feature is not for contacting Success Managers, Facilitators, or Coaches, but you can use it for peer discussions or group chats.

Not receiving updates or missing important information on Circle?

You may need to adjust your notification settings. Customising these helps you stay up to date with the community activity you care about most.

Instructions

  1. Click on your profile picture
  2. Select ‘Notifications’
  3. Change your notifications based on your preferences:
    • Edit both in-app and email notifications
    • Edit activity and programme/policy space preferences
    • Save your changes

Suggested Settings

  • Turn on email notifications for:
    • Comments on my posts
    • Replies to my comments
    • Mentions
    • Direct messages
  • In your programme space, turn on notifications for:
    • Ask Success Team
  • You may also like to turn on:
    • Live Events & Playback Library – to stay updated on sessions and masterclasses
    • Content Discussions (AI/P1/25) – to receive facilitator updates
